Ruddington’s motorists have had to suffer perhaps more than their fair share of traffic delays this year – from the construction of Tavern Island to the repainting of The Red Lion – whilst the long anticipated Flawforth Lane closure hasn’t even happened yet!
Now it seems electricity cabling by Western Power Distribution may mean more delays for drivers along Clifton Road as temporary traffic lights are put into place. Having been postponed due to bad weather, the work is now due to start this Thursday (10th August) and continue through until Tuesday the 15th of August.
Traffic control is set to be in use from the junction with Old Station Drive to the Pasture Lane roundabout. Hold-ups for motorists seem inevitable – with delays also expected for Nottingham City Transport‘s Navy 3 service and the LocalLink L22 & LocalLink L23 buses run by Nottingham Community Transport. However it is looking as though the main Clifton Road work might not happen until the weekend – which at least would mean minimal disruption for commuters.
We’ll keep you posted here on RUDDINGTON.info and via our Twitter feed @RUDDINGTON_info as to how bad the disruption is, once the main work begins.
